Most people looking for a church don’t start by walking through the doors on Sunday; they start by searching for churches online. So, when our Church Board began thinking about outreach and connection, it was clear that we need a fresh website that provided more details about the life and ministry of our congregation. The hope is to provide an online experience where faith, community, and connection come together, whether you’re a longtime member or just curious about the church.
Our new website uses the same address: newlifelg.org. The first thing you’ll notice is the design. It’s clean, welcoming, and works smoothy on any device: laptop, phone, or tablet. The layout is intuitive, so you won’t get lost clicking around.
LIVESTREAM. We continue to provide a livestream experience for Sunday mornings and other worship opportunities. You will find multiple links on the website to find the livestream in addition to watching it on the church’s Facebook or YouTube channels. You can also watch just the sermons under the ‘sermon section’ or watch entire worship services and other videos under the “Media” tab and clicking on “Church Videos.”
INVITE CARDS. Want to share a church event with family or friends? Look for the “Connect” tab on the navigation bar and click on “Invite Cards.” Each event, from worship, Bible studies, and other events, gets its own easy-to-read page that you can send by email or share on your social media pages. This tool makes it simpler for each of us to spread the word and invite others to experience what makes our church family special.
PRAYER WALL. Prayer is an important ministry. With the Prayer Wall, anyone can submit a prayer request, whether you want to keep it private or share a praise report when prayers are answered. Requests are immediately emailed to our prayer team volunteers, so every need is heard and supported. If you would like to receive emailed prayer requests, please contact the church office. Note: every prayer request must be approved by the church office before becoming public on the website.
ARTICLES. Be sure to visit the “Articles” section of our website. It’s here that we publish stories, news, and other helpful information with the congregation and anyone interested in what’s happening. You’ll find updates about church events, inspiring stories from members, and articles that explain faith topics in everyday language.
GIVING. By clicking on the ‘Give’ tab, you can learn about the easy ways to support the ministries of the church, including giving online or by text giving. Yes, that is correct: you can donate to the church via text messaging on your cell phone. All you have to do is send a text message with the amount you want to give using this number: (979) 428-2257. It’s perfectly safe and convenient.
I hope you’ll explore the site, interact with its features, and share it with friends and neighbors. New Life Methodist Church is more than a building; it’s a spiritual family. Now, this family is just as welcoming online as it is in person.
